Nonprofit Management Certificate
The School of Applied Social Sciences offers a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management.
Two-Year Rotation
Courses for the nonprofit management certificate are offered on a two-year rotation. Students may begin at any time. The admission process begins with submission of a one-page information sheet to the certificate program advisor.
Two Required Courses
Students enrolled in the certificate program are expected to complete two required courses:
*SoWk 655 - Nonprofit Management and the Third Sector
*SoWk 654 - Social Administration
Electives and Capstone
In addition, a number of regular electives are offered through Social Work, Public Administration, and other departments. Students in public administration, for example, take several courses in nonprofit health administration. Graduate students in Geography and Geology, for example, may already be taking a course that concentrates on the role of international NGOs.)

In addition, following completion of six hours of required and six hours of elective courses, students must complete a capstone project on a nonprofit management related topic.
Scheduling
SoWk 654 is offered every Spring semester. We anticipate that both SoWk 655 and SoWk 656 will be offered in Fall, 2005.
